Big, Bad Joe Manchin Ups His Curse Word Game

January 25, 2018

Sen. Joe Manchin is stepping up his curse word game. Two days ago, Manchin told any cable news network that would listen that “this place sucks.”  And this morning he is calling it “frustrating as hell.”

You know what else is frustrating as hell? Manchin being all talk and no action. But don’t take our word for it, just ask President Trump:

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WDTV) — In a New York Times interview from Mar-a-Lago, President Trump did not hold back criticism of West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin. The president said Manchin is a “nice guy” but that he “doesn’t do.”

In the interview with NYT reporter Michael S. Schmidt, Trump said in part…”We started taxes. And we don’t hear from the Democrats…”

Regarding Manchin, the president stated “…he talks. But he doesn’t do anything. He doesn’t do. “Hey, let’s get together, let’s do bipartisan.” I say, “Good, let’s go.” Then you don’t hear from him again.”

“I like Joe,” Trump continued. “You know, it’s like he’s the great centrist. But he’s really not a centrist. And I think the people of West Virginia will see that. He not a centrist. … I’m the one that saved coal. I’m the one that created jobs. You know West Virginia is doing fantastically now.”

Senator Manchin’s office has yet to comment on the interview, but has told media outlets that the senator had several meetings about the tax bill, including with President Trump.

In the interview with Schmidt, the president also discussed the Russia investigation, the Alabama Senate race, taxes, and other topics. You can read released excerpts of the interview from the New York Times at the Related Link.

Below is the excerpt regarding Senator Manchin and West Virginia.

SCHMIDT: Tell me about what you were saying that the Democrats. … [Inaudible.] … Tell me about the Democrats on the tax bill, which you were telling me about. Explain that to me, I thought that was interesting.

TRUMP: So. … We started taxes. And we don’t hear from the Democrats. You know, we hear b—s— from the Democrats. Like Joe Manchin. Joe’s a nice guy.

SCHMIDT: He is a very nice guy.

TRUMP: But he talks. But he doesn’t do anything. He doesn’t do. “Hey, let’s get together, let’s do bipartisan.” I say, “Good, let’s go.” Then you don’t hear from him again. I like Joe. You know, it’s like he’s the great centrist. But he’s really not a centrist. And I think the people of West Virginia will see that. He not a centrist. … I’m the one that saved coal. I’m the one that created jobs. You know West Virginia is doing fantastically now.

SCHMIDT: It’s a big. … It’s a very popular place for you.

TRUMP: It’s the biggest turnaround. West Virginia, their average, their G.D.P. is the biggest turnaround after Texas. Texas [inaudible]. … The second percentage gain in G.D.P. [Inaudible.] And I won that state by 43 points against crooked Hillary Clinton. And I’ll tell you, I think Joe, ah. … I think there’s a lot of talk. … A lot of talk.
