Serious question here – did Catherine Cortez Masto just throw some big time shade Harry Reid’s way, or is she simply a horrible candidate who doesn’t think before she speaks?
Here’s why I ask: at Saturday night’s First in the West Dinner with the Douglas Democrats, Cortez Masto said, “I’m running for Senate because for too long, Washington has been failing the American people.”
Do you see the inherent problem with that statement? Harry Reid, who is pulling the strings on Cortez Masto’s campaign, has been in the Senate for THIRTY YEARS. He was Majority Leader for eight years; for six of those eight years he had a Democrat in the White House; for two of those years he had a Democrat majority in the House of Representatives.
So given that Harry Reid has helped run Washington for the better part of thirty years, does Cortez Masto think he bears a significant responsibility for its failure?
What specifically does she think Reid has done that has been a failure?
How would she govern differently than Reid?
Expect for her to now be asked those questions – over, and over, and over again.
