Democrats Are Responsible for Biden Shipping Emergency Oil Reserves Overseas During a Gas Price Crisis

July 5, 2022

– Reuters is reporting the Biden Administration shipped “more than 5 million barrels of oil that were part of a historic U.S. emergency oil reserves release aimed at lowering domestic fuel prices… to Europe and Asia last month according to data and sources, even as U.S. gasoline and diesel prices touched record highs.”

Democratic candidates up and down the ballot have been cheerleading this policy as voters voice frustration about soaring gas prices. They must be asked about their support for this policy that is now shipping oil reserves overseas instead of helping lower the price at the pump for their constituents:

Mark Kelly

  • “Amid Invasion in Ukraine, Kelly Calls on Biden to Release Oil From Strategic Reserves, Support Suspending Federal Gas Tax” (Senator Mark Kelly, “Amid Invasion in Ukraine, Kelly Calls on Biden to Release Oil From Strategic Reserves, Support Suspending Federal Gas Tax,” Press Release, 2/25/22)

“As Americans experience the worst pain at the pump in our country’s history, Democrats are shipping emergency oil reserves to Europe and Asia instead of helping bring costs down at home. This is an epic disaster that only compounds Democrats’ ownership of high gas prices, which began with years of undermining domestic energy production setting the table for this crisis to occur.” -SLF Communications Director Jack Pandol
