On MSNBC, Doug Jones echoed the sentiments of far-left liberals like Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris, who are calling to impeach Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh:
“Well, there’s things that can be done, whether they will be done remains to be seen based on the allegations that have come out in the Times today. You know we’ll see how that goes… Now if it is in fact that he — he lied to the committee that’s a pretty serious allegation and people can be impeached for that.
“But I think the fact is this is inevitable, and that’s what I think the other side fails to recognize. I think it’s what the president fails to recognize that this was inevitable. That someone would continue to investigate and get to the bottom of this.”
This weekend, the New York Times published unsubstantiated accusations of sexual assault about Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, later noting in an editor’s note that the alleged accuser does not recall the incident, and would not speak on record about it.
Jones previously stated he would endorse either Warren or Harris over President Trump if they won the Democratic presidential primary.
“Doug Jones’ irrational hatred of President Trump has caused him to abandon all pretense and back this liberal media smear to impeach Justice Kavanaugh. A lawyer should know better than to advance an argument without facts – but this demonstrates Jones is merely a faithful soldier for Chuck Schumer and national Democrats, not a Senator for the people of Alabama.” -SLF Communications Director Jack Pandol
