Erratic Bill “Flipper” Nelson Flip-Flops Yet Again

June 28, 2018

Sen. Bill Nelson is rambling about the Senate needing to wait until after the 2018 midterm elections to consider any Supreme Court nominee.  But in August 2010 – 3 months before the midterms of President Barack Obama’s first term in office – Nelson voted to confirm Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court.

This is just the latest example of Bill “Flipper” Nelson’s increasingly erratic behavior.  Add it to the list, which already includes:

  • Supporting offshore drilling before opposing it
  • Not knowing what ZTE is after writing to President Trump on ZTE
  • Throwing a tantrum over Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell cancelling August recess despite calling for the cancellation of August recess less than two years prior
  • Feigning outrage for the separation of children from illegal immigrants despite voting for the bill that authorized the federal government to shelter unaccompanied immigrant children in federal facilities

“We’ll say it for a fourth time – Bill Nelson is losing it and needs to retire.” –SLF Spokesman Chris Pack
