Hassan costing taxpayers $1,000 a day on political travel

August 5, 2016

In case you missed it, this week WMUR reported that MIA Maggie Hassan was out of town on political travel for 8 days in July. That brings the total of MIA Maggie’s out-of-state political travel to 58 days since February.

This past May, the Concord Monitor calculated how much it has cost New Hampshire taxpayers for MIA Maggie’s 44 days out of state. TheMonitor came up with the figure of $42,000 for 44 days through that time – $954 per day.

So if we extrapolate, it looks like MIA Maggie’s political ambitions have cost Granite State taxpayers approximately $55,000 through July.

“MIA Maggie Hassan needs to explain to Granite Staters why she thinks it’s okay to spend $1,000 a day of their hard earned tax dollars traveling out of state to fund her political ambitions.” – Senate Leadership Fund Spokesman Ian Prior
