Joe Biden Says His Afghanistan Withdrawal Couldn’t Have Been Handled Any Better. Do Senate Democrats Agree?

August 18, 2021

In a breaking clip of George Stephanopoulos’ interview with President Biden, the President refused to take responsibility for the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal that has stranded thousands of Americans behind enemy lines.

Stephanopoulos: “So you don’t think this could’ve been handled – this exit could’ve been handled better in any way, no mistakes?”

Biden: “No… the idea that somehow, there’s a way to have gotten out without chaos ensuing, I don’t know how that happens”

The gut-wrenching images and video of the Taliban beating American cooperators, as well as desperate citizens clinging to the wheels of departing American military aircraft, tell a different story.

Senate Democratic candidates cannot stay silent about this – do they agree with President Biden that “No,” the withdrawal from Afghanistan could NOT “have been handled better in any way” and proceeded with “no mistakes?”

“President Biden’s shameful abdication of responsibility has left Americans stranded in enemy territory – and now he claims he wouldn’t do a single thing differently. Senate Democrats cannot ignore this spiraling crisis. They must denounce President Biden’s incompetent retreat that is risking American lives.” -SLF Communications Director Jack Pandol
