By now, we all know the tale of Patrick Murphy’s friend Ibrahim Al-Rashid and how Patrick took money from Al-Rashid AFTER learning that Al-Rashid pleaded guilty to domestic assault. Then Patrick stood by while Al-Rashid donated $100K to Senate Majority PAC and $10,000 to the Florida Democratic Party to help Murphy get elected to the Senate. But let’s follow the money…

Last week we learned that Ibrahim is the son of Nasser Al-Rashid, a Saudi billionaire who is a key advisor to the Saudi royal family and mega-donor to the Clinton Foundation. To make matters worse,Nasser himself is the subject of a tell-all book by his ex-wife about the horrors of her marriage to him. Today, we take a look at the hundreds of thousands of dollars more contributed by the Al-Rashid network to benefit Murphy – to the tune of $476,600.

Check out the amounts below and ask yourself – why is the family of one of Saudi Arabia’s most powerful billionaires so invested in Patrick Murphy’s political career:

Ibrahim Al-Rashid: ($15,600 to Murphy [$5,000 in 2011, $5,200 in 2013,$5,400 in 2015]; $100,000 to American Sunrise in 2012; $180,000 to House Majority PAC in 2012; $100,000 to Senate Majority PAC; $20,000 to the federal arm of the Florida Democratic Party [$10,000 in 2013,$10,000 in 2015]

Morgan Budman/Al-Rashid (girlfriend then wife of Ibrahim): $10,200($5,000 in 2011 as Ibrahim’s girlfriend [occupation “Homemaker”];$5,200 in 2013 as Ibrahim’s wife)

Salman/Sal Al-Rashid (brother of Ibrahim): $15,600 ($5,000 in 2011;$5,200 in 2013; $5,400 in 2015)

Mohammad/Moose Al-Rashid (brother of Ibrahim) $15,200 ($5,000 in 2011; $5,200 in 2013; $5,000 in 2015)

Ramzi Al-Rashid (likely half-brother of Ibrahim): $5,000

Nourah Al-Rashid Caskey (likely half-sister of Ibrahim): $5,000

Bobby Caskey (Nourah’s husband, likely Ibrahim’s brother-in-law):$5,000
