Pouty Patrick Murphy won’t commit to Chuck Schumer as Democratic Leader

August 8, 2016

Pouty Pat

Privileged. Phony. Pathetic. Those are the words most frequently associated with Patrick Murphy, but maybe it’s time to add petulant and pouty to that list. On Friday, Gary Rohrer from the Orlando Sentinel reported that Murphy “wouldn’t say who he’d vote for Senate Democratic Leader.”

That surely would be interesting news to Chuck Schumer, the Democratic leader-in-waiting – especially since Washington Democrats have committed to flushing so much money down Murphy’s golden toilet in order to prop up his floundering campaign.

But for those in the know, this rebuff of Schumer by Murphy is no surprise. Word is that Schumer personally had to travel to Florida to give Murphy a dressing down for the continual embarrassing headlines his campaign has been generating. Now your average candidate might take the criticism and move on, but everyone knows Murphy has a history of not reacting well to figures of authority.

“Chuck Schumer is finding out what the Miami Beach Police Department already knew – if you exercise your authority on Patrick Murphy he is going to lash out. It’s no coincidence that after Schumer reportedly flew to Florida to tell him to stop screwing up, Pouty Patrick played coy about whether he would support Schumer for Democratic leader.” – Senate Leadership Fund Spokesman Ian Prior
