Two Senate-focused organizations allied with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell just posted Q3 results revealing they are having their best off-year fundraising ever.
From POLITICO Playbook:
FIRST IN PLAYBOOK — SENATE LEADERSHIP FUND and ONE NATION — the leading Senate GOP outside groups — will report raising $7.1 million in the third quarter, the organization told us. The entities have raised $24.1 million this election cycle. SENATE MAJORITY LEADER MITCH MCCONNELL is closely tied to Senate Leadership Fund and raises it piles of cash. STEVEN LAW, who heads SLF and One Nation, said they have $6.1 million in pledges for the fourth quarter, calling it the “best off-year fundraising” SLF has had in its history. Law declined to release its cash on hand number.
Law said their donors are “very very fired up.” Senate GOP donors aren’t “happy with the glacial pace of Washington, but they are not willing to walk away from the investment they’ve made in Washington,” Law said. “I think if we get tax reform we are going to have a blockbuster year … If Congress doesn’t get it done there is nothing we will be able to do to rescue these members for the hole they will have dug for themselves.”
