Yesterday we told you about Nicholas Mastroianni II, the shady businessman who donated $50,000 to Patrick Murphy’s Super PAC and thousands more to his campaigns. We also suggested that Murphy’s support for the controversial EB-5 regional center extension bill was influenced by Mastroianni’s support for Murphy.
Well, it turns out that Mastroianni has been sued for “failing to follow rules for the use of investment funds raised through the U.S. EB-5 program.”
Given that Patrick is a United States Congressman and is running for the United States Senate, maybe he should stop getting a pass and someone should ask (1) if his support for the EB-5 extension bill was influenced by Mastroianni, and (2) if he is confident that this major donor of his is following all of the rules associated with the EB-5 program.
“It’s time that Patrick Murphy stops getting a free pass and starts answering questions about his shady Super PAC and campaign donors and whether he was improperly influenced by them.” – Senate Leadership Fund Spokesman, Ian Prior
