SLF Up With Second Ad in Nevada Highlighting Cortez Masto’s Rape Kit Negligence

September 20, 2016

New Ad is Second Television Spot in $6 Million Fall Campaign

WASHINGTON, DC — Today the Senate Leadership Fund launched its second ad as part of its $6 million fall TV campaign in the Nevada Senate race.

The ad, entitled “Unacceptable,” is the second spot from SLF highlighting how Catherine Cortez Masto negligently allowed thousands of rape kits to go unprocessed for DNA analysis. This ad also includes footage from a national CBS News report on the problem that aired three weeks before Cortez Masto admitted she had no idea the problem even existed.

“Unacceptable” will begin airing today on Las Vegas and Reno broadcast and cable TV. It will also include a radio component.

WATCH: “UNACCEPTABLE”

“In 2014, a national report from CBS News highlighted the inexcusable problem of untested rape kits. Three weeks after that report, Catherine Cortez Masto still didn’t know about the problem. That is negligence, it is unacceptable, and it disqualifies her from a promotion to the Senate.” – Senate Leadership Fund Spokesman Ian Prior
